      Virtuální univerzita třetího věku Provozně ekonomické fakulty České zemědělské univerzity v Praze již více než 15 let nabízí v ČR seniorské univerzitní vzdělávání posluchačům, kteří nemohou z různých důvodů dojíždět na prezenční přednášky do univerzitních měst.

      Koncept v ČR propojuje asynchronní vzdělávání prostřednictvím e-learningu s docházkou do tzv. konzultačního střediska.

      Nyní přichází přizpůsoben pro studium v zahraničí tak, aby umožnil krajanům zůstat v kontaktu s jejich rodným jazykem, kulturou a mezi sebou navzájem. Hlavní rozdíl je především v délce studia a v tom, že účast na společné výuce je nepovinná.

      V ČR je tato iniciativa podporována Ministerstvem školství, mládeže a tělovýchovy prostřednictvím spolupráce s Asociací Univerzit třetího věku. Nicméně v Severní Americe, kde nejsou možnosti vzdělávání upravené pravidly těchto institucí, jsme kurzy zpřístupnili pro osoby ve věku 50+.

      For more than 15 years, the Virtual University of the Third Age of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague has been offering senior university education in the Czech Republic to those who, for various reasons, cannot commute to face-to-face lectures at universities.

      In the Czech Republic, the concept combines asynchronous education through e-learning with attendance at a so-called consultation center.

      The concept has been adapted for study abroad to enable compatriots to stay in touch with their native language, culture, and each other. The main difference is in the length of the study and the fact that participation in the face-to-face/online group lectures is optional.

      In the Czech Republic, this initiative is supported by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports through cooperation with the Association of Universities of the Third Age. However, in North America, where there are no opportunities for education governed by the rules of these institutions, we have made the courses available for people aged 50+.
